Sanjaya Kumar, MD is Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) at Aegify, driving product strategy and management. Dr. Kumar pioneered the progression of data management and decision support solutions to further patient safety, clinical quality monitoring, and compliance with regulatory standards for the healthcare industry.
Dr. Kumar is a well-recognized industry leader, pioneer, and a serial entrepreneur, with more than 24 years of health information technology leadership, strategy and execution expertise. Dr. Kumar co-founded Quantros in 2000, the first cloud-based application service provider in the healthcare industry. Sanjaya is one of the few clinicians with diverse technology experience in software design of clinical applications including deep understanding of clinical operating systems, databases, applied data analytics, clinical decision support, and cloud computing. Sanjaya successfully grew Quantros to nearly 200 employees and software installations in more than 2300 healthcare facilities significantly improving patient safety, quality and compliance. During his tenure as CEO/CMO, the Quantros name became well-recognized as the first and largest vendor of SaaS applications to further clinical quality and patient safety through near real-time data analytics and decision support. From 2002 to 2010, both the revenue and the customer base grew by over 50% YoY. Quantros was acquired by Francisco Partners in October 2010.
Sanjaya currently serves as a director on the boards of PolicyMedical, HealthExpense, and the Foundation for Excellence (FFE).
Sanjaya is a clinician by primary education and training, plus he also holds a joint MS degree from the London School of Economics & Political Science and the London School of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and an MPH from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
